Well it’s just been too much time since my last post. What can I say, life and business are good. There has been much change of course, and I’m loving it. In October I decided to take a new role and bring in a CEO with more experience running a company at our stage. As you can imagine this was a challenge for me and also for the company. But one of the things I’ve always been good at is taking direction and being open to new learning experiences; that has served me well. The arrival of Dan Morefield has given me an opportunity to grow exponentially.
In particular, I’m no longer burdened with many operational and administrative functions within the company and I’ve been able to focus on more strategic aspects of my role. Both marketing and product management report to me now and I’ve charged with building those groups with big-time revenue focus. Being focused on revenue above all else has been a driving tenant of our new leadership. I think the people here appreciate that and it has helped everyone make better decisions and stay focused.
Another factor that has been keeping me from my regular posts is that my wife and I just had twins (read about that here) and we’ve been busy with 3rd trimester stuff. I ‘m pretty sure these guys will keep me from posting as much as I’d like too, but I’m going to try to keep it up. After all, the main reason I even started this blog to work challenges that come along with being an entrepreneur and share my successes and failures with others.
